IKEA coming to Dayton/Cincinnati?

July 6th, 2005

Is IKEA coming?

I like this bit: Real estate sources say the pocketbook-friendly furniture chain has been “in the market,” actively scouting sites at Union Center Boulevard in Butler County and the Auto Nation property in Hamilton County’s Forest Park. The retailer has gotten so many proposals that a spokesman said it is looking for a service to filter its many local inquiries.

I might be biased, since I am only three exits away, but Union center is a PERFECT location. It really is. It reminds me VERY much of the Schaumburg location, only with room to grow since it’s so young.

They cay no, let’s all call the IKEA phone number on thier website and let them know we WANTS IT. My precious…

I have been sending IKEA a weekly request to open a store in Ohio. I can only hope they open one in Union Center Blvd. It’s about 6 minutes from my house!!

IKEA needs to go in a more central location. The Cincinnati suburbs are the last place that need more retail and tax money. Put IKEA in a location near downtown and it will benefit the entire region. Making the central core stonger makes the region stronger. Just look at Portland, OR.

Union Centre is the perfect location for an IKEA store. It is very convenient for both Cincinnati and Dayton area residents and still convenient for Columbus and Indianapolis residents. I honestly think a Union Centre location would have the potential to become IKEA’s highest grossing US location.
